We are a public library centrally located next to the firehall on 49 Avenue. We belong to TRAC via the Northern Lights Library System. The library offers informational services, public computers and Wifi, room rentals, technology help and programs.

Our library also offers borrowing privileges, interlibrary loan, and eResources like ebooks, learning databases, and audiobooks. We honour The Alberta Library Card (TAL), if you have a library card anywhere in Alberta, you may borrow items here by signing up at melibraries.ca

The Library Board was established through a municipal bylaw. The board exists to oversee library services as a public trust. Friends of the Library

The Friends of the Vermilion Public Library is a dedicated group of volunteers who support the library. Historically, the friends have raised and dispersed over $50,000 to the benefit of the library. If you see a piece of equipment, new technology or something new at the library there is a good chance that the friends made that possible. The friends are primarily concerned with raising funds, advocacy, and volunteer work. The only current fundraiser for the Friends is a GAIN Charity Casino held in Camrose. If you are interested in assisting the Friends in meeting their goals please contact the library manager.

Friends of Vermilion Library Executive:

Vermilion Public Library is a member of the Northern Lights Library System (NLLS). NLLS is one part of seven regional library systems across Alberta, helping deliver library services to all Albertans, regardless of where they live. The Vermilion Public Library was established by the Frog Lake Chapter of IODE in 1931 with 113 books. In 1932 they officially founded the Vermilion Public Library and years later turned the library over to the town. From those modest beginnings to now, the IODE continues to support our Library. The Vermilion Public Library is an integral part of the Town of Vermilion, serving as a primary source of educational, cultural and informational needs. From the public access computers to our collection of books, movies and audio-books, Vermilion Residents can be proud of their library. The Vermilion Public Library is governed by a Library Board. The Board meets on the last Wednesday of of the month with the exceptions of July, August and December. The Board chairperson is Richard Yaceyko.
